was formed in November 1979 in association with the firm Industria Quimica del Urumea based in the Basque Country (Spain).

In the first phase a small factory for the production of coated sand for the application in casting cores and shells (Croning process) was installed.
Shortly afterwards customers began requesting other materials such as ferro-alloys, nodularisers, inoculants and other additives, and Pig iron in ingots that were added to meet those demands, given the commercial and technical know-how acquired in the meantime.
The sale of these different raw materials eventually led to privileged relations with several producers and operators, such Sorelmetal, DK Recycling Und Roheisen, Cometal, Rand York, Capital Refractories, S&B Industrial Minerals
We can say that Urpol has pioneered the promotion and expansion of nodular cast iron in our country, through technical support to foundries, mainly medium and small ones.
We face the future with cautious optimism given the agility of our structure and the versatility of our business portfolio.
